The Plug is normally built by Crushed’s desk, picking real in-stock drops off live dispensary menus. Hype is the other way products get on: budtenders — the people who actually watch what walks out the door — put up what they’re moving, and other budtenders in the same market co-sign it. Once a pick clears the unanimous bar in its market with zero passes, it earns a spot on The Plug alongside the desk’s own picks.
Every submission, hype, and promotion earns points, which stack into city, state, and national leaderboards. Points also double as entries into sponsor-backed prize drawings — gear, product, and merch from the brands running The Plug. Unanimous is deliberately a high bar — a pick needs at least five hypes and zero passes from budtenders in the same market before it promotes.
