Northern Lights is one of the most influential indicas in cannabis breeding history — a pure indica built from Afghani landrace genetics that went on to become a parent or grandparent of a huge share of the indica-leaning hybrids sold today, including Sensi Star and, through later crosses, Jack Herer. This batch's terpene profile is myrcene-led by a wide margin, followed by caryophyllene, limonene, and humulene, with smaller amounts of pinene, linalool, ocimene, and terpinolene rounding it out — an eight-terpene spread that's unusually complete for a legacy strain and helps explain the sweet, earthy, spicy character on record. At 16% THC, it sits in moderate territory, and the reported effects match its reputation: happy and calm leading into sleepy, with dizziness and the standard dry eyes and dry mouth as secondary notes.
